HypeTune.com is proud to present its featured artist of the week, Sam Beeton. Beeton is the embodiment of our ideals and has the top spot this week. His journey started at the age of 15 when he signed with Sony music, releasing and writing music while touring for many years.  He accompanied great acts such as James Morrison and Scouting for Girls.  His first single, “What You Look For”, was at one point Record of the Week on Radio One.  However, despite Beeton’s impressive resume of success and experience in the industry, he took matters into his own hands.  With other major labels looking to grab him, Beeton became an independent artist, taking control of his musical career. Instead of going to another label, he went to his fans.  As a site dedicated to the recognition and development of independent musicians, we just have to admire and respect this bold decision.

After his success in the major label industry, and now independently, Beeton has amassed a loyal fan base.  He was recently named Fanbridge’s Artist of the Day.  Beeton has also created a unique method of keeping his fans involved and up-to-date with his music.  The Sam Beeton Record Club was created so that those who subscribe receive his most recent recording on a CD on a monthly basis.

Here is what Beeton had to say about the Record Club:

“The reaction has been incredibly positive. Since I had the idea to release music this way I’ve been very excited about it and I’m sure other artists will soon begin to follow suit. When I finish a new song, I can send it out that month rather than having to agonise for a year over track listing, release dates and hairstyles as with traditional album schedules. And because people have bought into the record club for a year, I don’t have to market each release over and over. Even putting a new track on Myspace took a lot of telling people it was there to get it heard. The monthly record club is also a godsend creatively, as I know there will be an outlet for my work, and I can strive to make it the very best each month. And of course, I’ll be putting in special bonus tracks and treats for people to hear. And as I have my fans addresses, I know where to be touring the most!”
