We’re big fans of versatile artists on HypeTune.com, and Kidd Russell is one of those artists. In March of this year, he released his highly anticipated album “Backyard Heroes.” His alternative music in influenced by both pop and hip hop. His music embodies a variety of styles ranging from chill beach music, to inspirational hip hop, to even some rap/rock pump-up music. In high school, Russell used to freestyle on rooftops with pro-wrestler Colt Cabana. After five years in the business, Russel teamed up with producer Matt Jenkins, creating music rooted in hip hop yet performed over alternative production. They started Junkyard Productions, and their songs have been featured on professional media outlets such as MTV2, MTV Jams, CW, HDnet MMA Fights, and more. They also produced the theme song to “Ring of Honor Wrestling” on HDnet.

Russell has toured all over the country, opening for acts such as The Roots, Flobots, Common, Uncle Cracker, and many more.
